PRODI (Pilot project : 2017 -2019)
In order to enhance their own and their children's diets and generate extra revenue by producing innovative, long-lasting insect products that can be sold in local markets or consumed at home, women in the Muyuka area of southwest Cameroon are being encouraged to engage in sustainable insect breeding.

Insect breeding kits were created and tested in accordance with local conditions as part of the pilot project before being given to project participants and families who received insect breeding training. This allows them to produce insects in a sustainable and easy way, either for their own consumption or for marketing.
84 families in Muyuka received training as part of the project, and they were also given an insect breeding introduction kit. 57 families were able to produce an average of 3–8 kg of insects per month at home as of February 2019 through the PRODIT.
Résultats de PRODI1 en 2019 :
- Flies and phoretic mites, which enter fields with green fodder, have long plagued farms. They can be effectively fought with specific hygiene management.
- To keep an eye on chemical and microbiological characteristics, standard kits have been created.
- Local consumer tastes and behaviors were evaluated using a questionnaire. The most well-liked of the many creative insect-based goods that were put forth were the salty cricket snacks.
- Insect homogenizers, such as flour, were utilized in the initial trials as a foundation for spicy pasta or crackers.
