KAFA – Recruit apprentices from Cameroon

What does KAFA program offers?

  • Employment in a German training organization, with Twelve months of intercultural and linguistic training at the KAGEDEV training centre in Cameroon.
  • Support during the preparation period in Cameroon and during the first year in Germany.

Who does what?

The association KAGEDEV e.V. in Germanyis in charge of choosing applicants and connecting them with German employers, working closely with its partners.


Who can apply?

To be eligible, the following conditions must be fulfilled :

  • Have the Cameroonian nationality
  • Posses a Secondary school leaving certificate obtained in Cameroon
  • Be 18 - 25 years old at the beginning of the program in Cameroon
  • No criminal record

What are the participation fees?

Participants must bear the following costs :

  • A monthly contribution of 35 000 FCFA for language course
  • A unique contribution of 25 000 FCFA, to be paid at KAGEDEV Cameroon

The German employers cover all additional expenses (visa, travelling, lodging during training, etc.).

No application fees is required to participate in the program, be placed in training or benefit from KAGEDEV’s support.


How and where to apply?

Applications are open every year. Updated information is published on the websites of KAGEDEV Germany et KAGEDEV Cameroon.


Course of the program :

1. Phase of preparation in Cameroon

  • Intensive German course lasting 12 months up to level B2
  • Specialized language training and cross-cultural engagement
  • Support by KAGEDEV Cameroon throughout the preparation

2. Vocational training in Germany (3 years)

  • Theoretical and practical training in companies and vocational schools
  • Monthly salary during training
  • Supervision by KAFA during the first year, including one week orientation seminar and assistance with administrative processes (permission to dwell)

3. Leaving training to stay employed in Germany

After validation of the final examinationthere is a chance to stay in Germany and work there permanently.
