Recruitment of Cameroonian nursing staff for Germany

Fund

In Germany there is a lack of nursing staff, while in some countries it is often difficult for skilled professionals to find employment. Our program was created in response to this situation. The project is based on an agreement between our association and its partners in Germany, which regulates the procedure, selection and placement of foreign nationals (§ 18 of the German Aliens Act).

Cameroonian caregivers are linguistically and professionally prepared for their future activity in Germany and supported in integration. In Germany, they follow a procedure for the recognition of their professional qualifications which lasts between 6 and 12 months.

Project implementation

KAGEDEV Cameroon informs the health staff interested in the program, publishes calls for applications for the program, establishes initial contacts and pre-selects candidates based on its partners' criteria.

The process in Cameroon

1) Applications are filed with KAGEDEV Cameroon.
2) Our partners in Germany conduct selection interviews with candidates in Cameroon, with emphasis on the training and professional experience of the candidates, their motivation and suitability for the position. German language skills are also taken into account.
3.) If the interview, which takes place either on site in Cameroon, by Skype or by phone, is successful, the employer and the candidate sign an employment contract

Integration in Germany

The project supports caregivers in the first months after their arrival in Germany and accompanies them during the first administrative procedures shortly after their entry into Germany. If any particular questions arise during the first year, the caregiver and employer can contact us and KAGEDEV will advise them in detail. In addition, KAGEDEV supports and accompanies caregivers in the recognition of their qualifications in Germany
