We honor the victims of terrorism today by commemorating the third edition of the International Day of Remembrance. We humbly honor those who have died and those who are still dying in Cameroon's different crisis areas, as well as all those who have been harmed by the worldwide evil that is terrorism. The families of the victims join the KAGEDEV in their tears.
Terrorism constitutes the major challenge of our country at present because it is a serious threat to peace and national security and it is important to specify that no region in Cameroon can consider itself immune from these terrorist attacks.
Even time would struggle to eradicate the impacts of terrorism on its victims, which can last for entire generations. Additionally, it is critical that everyone do everything in their power to eradicate this disease from Cameroon and support the families affected, especially with regard to the care of victims and survivors at all levels.
Preventing future terrorist acts is a key component of our remembrance of Cameroon's terrorist victims. We have counted hundreds of thousands of homeless families, thousands of individuals slain, thousands displaced, and villages destroyed during the past five years. We are inspired by the survivors' and victims' extraordinary fortitude and resiliency, as well as by their will to live and their aspirations to reintegrate into society.
On this day, we strongly urge the Cameroonian government to employ any force necessary to put a stop to these situations. It is more important than ever for all Cameroonians to join together around a table, talk about their issues, and work together to find answers. Let's take advice from people who have experienced it! Let's place the "human being" in the forefront of our concerns and set aside personal disputes and problems.
The victims of Cameroon's terrorism will always be in our hearts, and we will never cease remembering and paying tribute to them as we pursue justice and peace.
We are all Cameroonians, we will die all, but Cameroon will remain!
