Our History
KAGEDEV was born in 2011 from the desire of some Cameroonians, then students in German universities, faced with many problems in an ecosystem they did not yet know, to rethink the ins and outs of solidarity within their community They therefore decided to create an exchange group on the Facebook platform, thus allowing thousands of Cameroonians available on the same platform to join the group and raise their respective problems.
Due to the great success of the Facebook group, an association called German Kmers e.V. was created in the city of Mannheim, Germany.
The increasing investment of local actors in projects, the potential for change that they represent for Cameroonians and their expectations lead the kmers association of Germany e.V. to convene its board in order to put on the table of debate a series of proposals aimed at increasing the actions of the association.. This significant debate comes to a close with a disagreement between the steering committee members, but also with a significant modification of course.
Following this difference of opinion, the organization will be dissolved in March 2019.
The founding members of the organization Kmers from Germany e.V. decided to continue their work of help and support by creating a new organisation in June 2019 under the name KAGEDEV.
This new organization decides to implement aid projects and to focus all its action in the fields of education, training, health and culture: A skills partnership aimed at improving the living conditions of Cameroonians
A national representation of the organization is created in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
A regional representation of the organization is created in Douala, Cameroon.
