History

2011

KAGEDEV was founded in 2011 by a group of Cameroonian students in German colleges who wanted to reconsider the nuances of community solidarity after encountering numerous issues in an unfamiliar ecosystem. As a result, they made the decision to set up an exchange group on Facebook, which enabled thousands of Cameroonians who were using the same platform to join and share their issues.

2013

German Kmers e.V. was established in Mannheim, Germany, as a result of our Facebook group's tremendous popularity.

2018

The association of kmers d'Allemagne e.V. called a meeting of its board of directors to discuss a number of proposals aimed at expanding the association's activities because of the increasing investment in projects by local actors, the potential for change they represent for Cameroonians, and their expectations. The steering committee members disagree at the end of this lengthy discussion, but there has also been a significant shift in direction.
Following this difference of opinion, the organization will be dissolved in March 2019.

2019

In June 2019, the founding members of Kmers d'Allemagne e.V. made the decision to carry on their assistance and support work by establishing a new organization called KAGEDEV.
This new organization makes the decision to establish aid initiatives and focus all of its efforts in the areas of culture, education, training, and health: A skills collaboration to enhance Cameroonians' quality of life

2023

A national office is established in Yaoundé, Cameroon by the organization.

2025

A regional office is established in Douala, Cameroon by the organization.
