History
In 2011, a group of Cameroonian students attending German colleges decided to examine the nuances of communal solidarity after encountering numerous issues in an unfamiliar ecology. This led to the creation of KAGEDEV. As a result, they made the decision to start an exchange group on Facebook, which enables thousands of Cameroonians who are on the same platform to join and discuss their own issues.
German Kmers e.V. was established in Mannheim, Germany, as a result of the Facebook group's enormous success.
The Kmers Association of Germany e.V. called a board meeting to discuss a number of proposals aimed at expanding the association's activities because of the growing involvement of local actors in projects, the potential for change they represent for Cameroonians, and their expectations. The steering committee members disagree at the end of this lengthy discussion, but there has also been a significant shift in direction.
Following this difference of opinion, the organization will be dissolved in March 2019.
In June 2019, the founding members of Kmers from Germany e.V. made the decision to carry on their assistance and support work by establishing a new organization called KAGEDEV.
This new organization makes the decision to carry out humanitarian initiatives and concentrate all of its efforts in the areas of culture, education, training, and health: A skills collaboration to enhance Cameroonians' quality of life
A national representation of the organization is created in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
A regional representation of the organization is created in Douala, Cameroon.
